Title: Tools for better science writing

Instructor: Tom Musselman

  • Evening classes
  • Open to everyone
  • Applies to all fields of science
  • Three weeks long
  • Six class sessions
  • Fifteen hours total class time
  • Low enrollment fees
  • Discount for students
  • Focus on the scientific research article

Well-written manuscripts of scientific research articles are more authoritative and more likely to be published and cited. Well-written manuscripts come from authors who have developed good writing skills through learning and practice. But good writing skills have benefits beyond writing. They are cognitive aids, so they can make you a better scientist.

This class is for anyone who wants to improve their writing, thinking, and science.

I've been teaching this popular online class since 2020. Class includes practical advice based on my observations from editing hundreds of manuscripts from many fields of science. Classes are sponsored and promoted by UNAM-Tucson, an office in the US of the national university of Mexico. Most of the students are UNAM undergrads, grad students, and faculty. Classes are open to everyone, but are especially useful for non-native English speakers.
